Passing UTMs in your Booking URL can be used to track the performance of your marketing campaigns. They help identify where traffic comes from, measure engagement and conversions, support A/B testing, track ROI, and ensure consistent data across platforms.

This article reviews how to add UTMs to your Booking URLs and update Chili Piper and your CRM. This can be done for scheduling links or concierge router links. This will pass a static value that you decide.

## Map your UTM Data Fields

**This section is dedicated to Chili Piper Admins.**

In Chili Piper, there are default UTM Data fields that will be created automatically. If you are passing one of them, there is no need to create the UTM; you can just edit it.

By default, you will find the UTM-related fields below for use. **How it works:** Original fields are first populated and not overwritten, and Recent fields are overwritten.

- Original UTM Term

- Original UTM Campaign

- Original UTM Source

- Original UTM Medium

- Original UTM Content

- Recent UTM Term

- Recent UTM Campaign

- Recent UTM Source

- Recent UTM Medium

- Recent UTM Content

For example, we have the UTM Content, and we have mapped it to the correct fields on our Lead and Contact in our CRM. You want to **make sure you have Overwrite enabled so the field is updated** with the new value in your CRM.

## Add your UTM Data Fields to the URL

These can be added to your Scheduling Links or Concierge Router links. You can find your scheduling links under scheduling links in the Command Center or your Router link in the router under embed.

**Scheduling Links**

**Router Link**

We can add the UTM to the end of the URL by adding _**?utm_.... = value**_. When using more than one parameter, you can separate them using **&**. Check the practical examples below for further context.

You can choose among the following standard slugs for UTM-related Chili Piper Data Fields:

- utm_content

- utm_source

- utm_medium

- utm_term

- utm_campaign

**Practical Example for UTM Content:**

```
https://yourdomain.chilipiper.com/concierge-router/link/router_name?utm_content=ebook
```
**Practical example for UTM Source and UTM Content on the same link:**

```
https://yourdomain.chilipiper.com/round-robin/link_name?utm_source=linkedin&utm_content=ebook
```

## Test your Link

After you have done the above, test that the value you are passing is updating in your CRM as expected. Below is an example test of a scheduling link:

1. Copy your Scheduling Link

2. Paste it in a new tab and add your UTM to the end and book a meeting

3. With the Lead or Contact you booked the meeting with, check your CRM updated and Chili Piper updated with the UTM value.
