Salesforce tasks are essentially just a to-do list inside of Salesforce. Sales teams use them as reminders to follow up with leads, send over proposals, or do anything else related to closing deals.

The most helpful part about a task in Salesforce is that it's related to a particular record. Instead of flipping between a to-do list app and hub-of-all-things Salesforce, everything is right in one place, and it's clear which Leads, customers, or Accounts each task is meant for.

With Distro, you can set a CRM action to create a Task as part of your [CRM Router](https://help.chilipiper.com/hc/en-us/articles/23304655920403-Distro-CRM-Flow-Builder).

## How Does It Work?

- Create a [CRM Router](https://help.chilipiper.com/hc/en-us/articles/23304655920403-Distro-CRM-Flow-Builder) or open an existing one, and add on a route the node "Create a Task" by clicking the + button:![](https://help.chilipiper.com/hc/article_attachments/29333970306579)

- A new panel will appear on the right, where you can fill out all the required information about the new Task.![](https://help.chilipiper.com/hc/article_attachments/29333970308627)

- Optional: Additionally, you can add other Salesforce fields you want to update. Click Add Salesforce Field, select the field, and add the value.

## FAQ

**What happens if there’s no distribution on the path? Who owns the Task?**

The Task's Owner will be the record's Owner. That said, supposing the record is owned by the "Chili Piper Integration User", the Task will be Owned in Salesforce by the same user.

This also means that if the distribution happens before the Task creation in your Router, the assignee will also be assigned as the Task owner since, previously, the record was distributed to them in the same flow.

**What happens if the Lead is reassigned through an SLA?**

In this case, the Task's Owner will also be reassigned.
