Want to create and use a specific meeting type for your booking link? That's easy in Chili Piper! You can customize a new meeting type using our dynamic fields.

How do I create a new meeting type?
1. Go to your personal Meetings page
2. Go to Meeting Types -> Create meeting type
3. Choose a name and meeting duration. The meeting name cannot contain special characters or emojis for the internal name.
That's it! Your personal meeting type has just been created. Let's now customize it.
How do I customize a meeting type?
You can customize six sections to make your meeting template your own. Let's look at each one.
This is the name and duration you've set up under the first step to Create a new meeting template. You can change them here.
You can specify the Meeting Title, Location, and Description, which will appear in the calendar invite. The meeting title can contain most special characters and even emojis.
Here's an example:
We use a new intermediary prompt to insert these fields, allowing you to add a new tag in straightforward steps. We allow inserting two types of tags: a Meeting Location or Dynamic Tag.
When you click on the Meeting Location dropdown, Chili Piper will prompt you to select the video conference system you use, so you can insert a tag that will expand into your meeting link. We support Zoom, GoToMeeting, Webex, RingCentral Video, Gong Consent, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, depending on your calendar integration.
Insert Dynamic Tag
This button will open the enhanced UI to insert a custom dynamic tag of your choosing. Select the Object Source (Chili Piper), the Object (Guest, Meeting, or Me), then the desired dynamic tag. For example, here's how you can add the meeting host's first name in the description:
Here you can select the form that will link to your meeting template. Make sure you have an existing Form under the Guest Form section first - we will automatically link the first form you created, but you can change it in this section using the Replace button:
You can set up buffers before and/or after the calendar event to ensure you don't get back-to-back meetings. You can set these up here - select if you also want these buffers to apply for meetings scheduled manually via Instant Booker.
Specify your availability for this meeting template. We recommend that most users enable Use Host's default working hours and Use Host's default timezone, but you can still select a custom availability timeframe. Here's an example:
Availability Range - this setting specifies how far in advance an event can be scheduled. By default, we use a Relative Date Range of 6 weeks. You can adjust this if you want your meetings booked out sooner or later.
Specific Date Range allows you to select a specific range that this Meeting Type will show for available slots. This allows you to enter a Time zone which will be synced to the Meeting Type's schedule time zone if one is set.
Minimum scheduling notice - this setting specifies the minimum time advance a prospect can book. For example, with a minimum scheduling notice of 2 days, a prospect can only book a meeting today for 2 days in advance.
ℹ️ 1 day or 24 hours are not available options at the moment. We recommend using 12 or 15 hours as, normally, users' working hours are from 8 to 10 hours, so these two option should be enough to avoid same-day bookings.
Show available time in increments of - this setting specified at what time intervals prospects are allowed to book meetings. By default, we use 30 minutes so that meetings can be booked, for example, at 1.00 PM and 1.30 PM.
For more granularity, you can select 15 minutes so that meetings can be booked at 1.00 PM, 1.15 PM, 1.30 PM, and 1.45 PM.
For the best availability, choose Dynamic, which will allow meetings to be booked whenever there's a free slot. For more information on how Dynamic intervals work, check out this article.
Advanced template settings are defaulted for the most common use cases, but you can customize these to your liking. The most popular settings here are:
Host Booking Limit - set the number of times a host can be booked. For example, you can select to have a Host receive a maximum of 4 meetings per day - once that limit is reached, Chili Piper will start booking meetings for that rep starting tomorrow.
Prospect Booking Limit - set the number of times a prospect can book this meeting type. This setting is helpful if you don't want 'spammy' bookings from the same prospect. You can limit the number of times their email address or domain can book per hour, day, or week.
Guest Edit Permissions - set whether or not you would like to allow prospects to modify the meeting in the google calendar invite. If this setting is enabled, prospects can change any meeting details from the google invite. This includes the title, times, description, and location.
How do I duplicate a meeting type?
Want to re-use settings from an existing meeting type? You can select this button here to see the Duplicate option:
We'll create a clone called "Copy of..."
You can edit this name in the General tab of your meeting type, this will update the URL as well to reflect the new meeting type name.
Note: you cannot have two links with the exact same meeting type name, any duplicates will have an integer appended to them starting at 1
