Demand Conversion Platform (DCP) Users
This article is dedicated to guiding users through setting up their Gong integration in Legacy. If you are already a DCP user and need any further details about the Gong integration there, please check this article.
Gong is a popular video intelligence platform that allows customers to record their video meetings. With Chili Piper's Gong integration, you can enable customers to select a Gong consent link as the location for a Meeting.
The core benefit to this integration is that it allows Chili Piper customers requiring recording consent due to GDPR compliance to book video meetings without having to coordinate consent separately.
In this article, we cover the following:
- Recording Consent Setup in Gong
- Integrating Gong in Chili Piper
- Updating Meeting Templates and Reminders
- Gong and Zoom
- To Disconnect
Should a meeting be canceled, rescheduled, or reassigned, Chili Piper will update the Gong meeting directly to keep your meetings in line.
The integration is done on the admin level. Each one of your Chili Piper users can connect their Gong account to Chili Piper in their personal user settings.
Recording Consent Setup in Gong
You will first need to enable Recording consent within Gong before enabling this feature within Chili Piper.
To do this, log in to Gong as an admin and browse your Organization Settings.
The "Recording consent" option is under the "Data Capture" section:
From there, you will want to completely configure how you want Gong Consent set up, including the conference provider, whether the links are dynamic, and any custom logos or text you want to appear on the consent page:
Once this is all configured, you should see the connected status on the Recording consent page:
Integrating Gong in Chili Piper
- Head over to the Admin Center Integrations page:
- Click the Connect button on the Gong app:
- You will be prompted to log in to Gong and accept the permission scope:
-
Once logged in, you will be redirected back to Chili Piper, which will say connected. You can check which users have Gong integration enabled under the Users table in the Admin Center:
The users listed will automatically refresh periodically, or you can force a new refresh by clicking the "Refresh Users" button on the Integrations page.
The manually refresh is commonly useful when you see users with the Gong Status set as "In Trouble" in Chili Piper. This status usually means that there were some changes on Gong side (like a password change in the user's Gong account) that prevents Chili Piper to properly retrieve the user credentials.
Updating Meeting Templates and Reminders
Now that you've successfully connected your Gong account, you can update your Team's Meeting Types under the Workspace via the Insert Contact Method button or Dynamic tags.
Notes:
- You should only use 1 of the 2 Dynamic Tags below within your Meeting Types / Reminders.
- For example, you would not use both {!CP.Assignee.GongConsent} & {!CP.Booker.GongConsent} within the same Meeting Type Calendar Invite as this would create two unique Gong meetings and likely confuse your Prospect/Customer as to which one to join.
- We recommend placing the dynamic tag within the "Meeting Description" of the Calendar Invite template (not the "Location")
Dynamic Tags
|
A Gong Consent Conference URL for the User the meeting is assigned to |
|
A Gong Consent Conference URL for the User who is BOOKING the meeting. |
Meeting Types
When meetings are booked, the field automatically populates in the description with a Unique Gong Consent Link. This will work with both personal and Workspace meeting types.
Important: When leveraging these in your meeting template and reminders, you must use the same dynamic tag in both, as the reminder cannot use tags that weren't passed through the template.
Dynamic Tags Not Populating!
If you send a meeting invite and the Gong link is missing, it is likely due to the connection between your account and Gong.
Ensure the Admin has "Refreshed Users" and the account appears "Connected" in the User table. Otherwise, we may not populate this dynamic tag.
Gong and Zoom
To connect Gong to your Zoom account successfully, you need to be a Zoom admin. Note: The integration will disconnect if the person who sets up the integration ceases to be a Zoom admin later.
-
In your company settings page (in Gong), click Web Conferencing.
-
In the Zoom row, click SETTINGS.
-
Click Connect.
-
Follow the instructions: sign in to your Zoom account, and authorize access to Zoom. Note: You must be the Zoom administrator for your company to connect Gong to Zoom. Only one Zoom account per company is supported. When you connect to Zoom, we install a Gong for Zoom app instance in your Zoom account, and ask for the following permissions:
- View and manage all user meetings
- View and manage all user recordings
- View all users' Zoom Rooms information
- View and manage all users
To see how to Enable Native Zoom Recording, here is the Gong article with all the steps to set it up.
To Disconnect
