The CRM Flow Builder's Preview Mode helps execute any flows without making any updates in Salesforce. This way, you can ensure that your Flow is running as it should or perform any updates before going live.
We'll cover how to execute the Flow Builder in the Preview Mode below.
How to Run the Flow Builder in Preview Mode?
Before starting, note that a Flow doesn't need to be published to be previewed. You can publish it before previewing it and ensuring that it runs as it should.
- After clicking the Router option in the left-side menu, select the Router by clicking Flow View. If you want to start a new one from scratch, click the Create CRM Router button in the top right.
Click here if you would like to learn more about the Flow Builder's setup.
- Once your flow is updated/created and it's ready to be reviewed, click Preview Flow
- Enter the Salesforce ID that corresponds to the Salesforce Object of your Trigger. If your Trigger evaluates a Lead object, you'll need to include a LeadId (00Q...), and so on. The Preview Mode supports 15 and 18-digit Salesforce IDs.
You can find the ID to be used directly in your Salesforce instance's URL:
- Click Preview, and then the system will initially evaluate the Entry Rule. Then, if all conditions are true, check all routing rules one by one until we have a match.
This way, you can test your new Flow or any updates, performing any needed adjustments before going live and needing to update a Salesforce object.
