Who can use this feature?
This article explains how to add Leads or Contacts to a Gong Engage Flow directly from the Distro Flow Builder.
Table of Contents
Gong integration in Chili Piper
Before adding records to Gong Engage Flows, you’ll need to connect Gong in Chili Piper.
- In the Admin Center, click Integrations in the left-hand menu.
- On the Built-In Integrations tab, scroll to Sales Automation & Engagement and click Connect next to Gong.
You’re ready when the integration shows a Connected status.
⚠️ Important
If Gong was previously connected, you must disconnect and reconnect it to grant the additional scopes required for Gong Engage (read workspaces, read flows, assign to flow).
Integration user requirements
The user who authenticates the Gong integration must have a Gong Engage seat.
That integration user can access:
- Company flows – shared across the Gong organization
- Personal flows – created by the integration user
- Shared flows – shared with the integration user by others
Add Leads and Contacts to a Gong Engage Flow
Once Gong is connected, you can add Leads or Contacts to a Gong Engage Flow from any Lead- or Contact-triggered Distro router.
- In the Distro Flow Builder, click the + icon to add a node, then select Add to Flow under Integrations.
- Configure the node in the side panel:
- Select Gong Flow – Choose the Gong Engage Flow
-
Flow Assignee – Select who will own the flow:
- Lead Owner / Contact Owner
- Selected User from Workspace
⚠️ Assignment requirement
If you choose Lead Owner or Contact Owner, the record must have been assigned earlier in the router using an Assign & Update Ownership node.
If you select Selected User from Workspace, no prior assignment is required.
- Publish your router. When the router runs, you’ll see the execution result in the router logs:
- In Gong, the Lead or Contact will appear in the selected flow with the configured sender:
Limitations
- If the Lead or Contact already exists in the selected Gong Engage Flow, the node will fail.
- In router logs, this will appear as Add to Gong Flow – Failed.
