How Chili Piper determines your time zone
Chili Piper will automatically detect your time zone based on your connected Calendar's time zone preferences. Your personal working hours schedule, Availability Schedules, and the time you see when opening ChiliCal/Handoff Scheduler will be displayed in your local time zone.
Note: If this time zone is not displayed correctly, please review your Google Calendar or Office 365 calendar settings to ensure the correct time zone is selected. If this is still displaying incorrectly, consider reconnecting your Calendar under integrations.
Viewing and Editing Your Time Zone Settings
By default, we will sync your time zone to your calendar, but perhaps you're traveling or working in a time zone that doesn't reflect regular hours in your region. You may want to manually change the time zone in Chili Piper without adjusting your Calendar.
To check and edit your current timezone or manually set a different one from your calendar, navigate to MyApp's Home page and click My Availability in the Scheduler's header. Then, click Edit next to Default working hours:
There, you will be able to check which timezone is synced from your calendar or manually set a different one. The timezone format in the dropdown will always be displayed as GMT +/- - Timezone Name - City.
The selected time zone will impact the working hours you have set on the same page. This directly impacts your availability across Scheduling Links and Distributions you are included, so please be sure to coordinate the right availability if you make any time zone changes.
Don't forget to Publish your updates once you are done.
How your prospect's time zone is determined
When your prospect is looking at your booking link, the time zone will be automatically detected based on their local computer or mobile device's time zone - specifically, what their Internet browser populates as their time zone.
The time zone is displayed above the available time slots as their local region, with the local time displayed.
If the prospect selects this, they can expand a dropdown on the booking page and select a different region/time zone. The timezone format in the dropdown will always be displayed as GMT +/- - Timezone Name - City.
Chili Piper will automatically adjust the time zone based on the local region, including daylight savings time shifts.
Time zones Within the Scheduler
While booking a meeting through ChiliCal Co-Pilot's or Handoff's Scheduler, Chili Piper will automatically identify the prospect's timezone in our database through Clearbit data and load it in the Scheduler's top left, right beside your timezone.
The data we pull from Clearbit is not updatable for end-users, but you can click the + sign to update the prospect's timezone if it wasn't identified or if you want to set a different one manually. Click the X to remove the prospect's timezone and keep yours.
While in MyApp, the timezone you set in your Availability Schedule will be shown by default, but you can adjust the Scheduler's timezone at the top left by clicking +
Time zones and Suggested Times
Similar to the above, we also automatically identify the prospect's timezone in our database through Clearbit data and load it in the Scheduler's top left, right beside your timezone.
The data we pull from Clearbit is not updatable for end-users, you can also click the + sign to update the prospect's timezone if it wasn't identified or if you want to set a different one manually. Click the X to remove the prospect's timezone and keep yours.
The selected timezone will be displayed in the email's body alongside the slots you selected to be sent:
