Who can use this feature?
Spam bookings can clutter calendars, waste time, and create frustration for teams. To solve this, Chili Piper built Spam Checker, an AI-powered tool that filters out low-quality or fake submissions before they ever reach your reps’ calendars.
Spam Checker automatically scores incoming emails, applies configurable checks, and blocks spammy submissions from booking meetings. This helps your team stay focused on real prospects and keeps calendars open for quality meetings.

How to add the Spam Checker Node
Add the Spam Checker Node to a Concierge Router
1. Open your Concierge Router. This can be a new Router or an existing one.
2. Right after the trigger node, select Add Node +.
- The Spam checker can only be added directly after the trigger node. This ensures spam emails are filtered before distribution.
3. Choose Spam Checker.
4. From the Spam checker node, customize the Spam Checker settings by clicking Open Settings - this will open a new tab with the settings you can adjust (more details on the settings in the next section)
5. After adding the Spam Checker node, decide what happens if an email is marked as spam:
- Redirect to URL (a disqualification page) or back to the form.
- Send to a fallback distribution. The fallback distribution can be used as a safeguard for prospects wrongly marked as spam. They can still book meetings, which can be reassigned to an appropriate rep by an admin. It can also be used to prevent spammers from knowing they've been caught.
6. If the email passes the checks (not spam), it will follow the booking flow you built for it below.
Writing to Data Fields
Spam Checker can write the results to your Spam Score in your CRM. If the Spam Score Data Field is mapped to the CRM, the score will be written for every submission we check. This Data Field is pre-created by Chili Piper.
To map this field, go to Data Fields > Search Spam Score > Open the Spam Score Field and map it to your CRM.
The option to write it or not is made available inside the Spam Checker node.
Spam Checker Settings
Spam Checker offers two types of checks: Binary and Weighted.
Strict Spam Checks - Binary Checks (Immediate Disqualification)
If enabled and triggered, the submission is instantly marked as spam. The spam score for the email will automatically be marked as “10”, the highest possible score.
-
MX Check: Validates the email’s mail server record using Google DNS.
- You can allow a list of approved providers.
- Domain Blocklist: Add domains you don’t want to accept.
-
Email Blocklist: Block specific emails.
Point-Based Spam Checks Weighted Checks (Score-Based)
Admins assign “points” to each check. The higher the score, the worse an email is. If a submission’s total score meets or exceeds the threshold, it is marked as spam.
- Role-Based Email: Flags emails with common role-based keywords (e.g., info@, sales@).
- Disposable Email: Detects temporary/disposable emails.
- Free Email Check: Flags free providers (for example, Gmail, Yahoo). You can allow list exceptions.
- Random/Gibberish Check: Detects nonsensical emails (powered by an AI model).
Default Settings
- Blocklists: Empty
- MX Check: ON
- Role-Based Emails: ON, 3 points
- Disposable Emails: ON, 3 points
- Free Email Check: ON, 2 points
- Random/Gibberish Check: ON, 3 points

Testing the Spam Checker
You can test Spam Checker directly in the settings page:
- Enter an email address into the Test field.
- Review the results, Spam Checker will show which checks passed or failed.
- Use this to fine-tune thresholds and exceptions.
Here is an example test of a 'spam' email test score:
