Prerequisites
- At least one Chili Piper Scheduling Link (meeting link or personal page) must be configured in your Chili Piper account. Check the articles below if you need further details on how to configure them first:
- Your Storylane workspace must have CTA functionality enabled.
What does this integration do?
- Seamless booking: Prospects can schedule directly from the demo without leaving Storylane.
- Live calendar integration: Chili Piper opens inside the Storylane demo interface for a smooth experience.
- Flexible CTA placement: Add scheduling links to header links, persistent buttons, and modal/guide CTAs.
- Keep context: Booking opens inside the demo window, so prospects stay in the experience
Before You Start
Ensure to have the Chili Piper Scheduling Link you want to use handy, as this is the URL you will paste into Storylane CTAs.
If you are not sure where to find it, open Chili Piper → navigate to the Scheduling Link you want to share → copy the full URL.
Setup Overview
There are three common places to add Chili Piper links inside Storylane demos:
- Brand CTA (header link): Adds a link in the demo header (top-right).
- Convert CTA (persistent button): A persistent scheduling button is usually shown at the bottom-right of the demo.
- Demo CTA (modal/guide buttons): Makes text buttons or lead-form buttons open Chili Piper.
We will cover each option separately below.
Brand CTA (Header link)
Use this option for a subtle, top-level scheduling link that’s visible on every published demo.
- Open Storylane and go to Workspace Settings.
- Find the Header Link on the Page section (or similar field for header CTA).
- Enter the header text (example: Book a demo).
- Paste your Chili Piper scheduling URL in the URL field.
- Save changes and publish the demo.
- Test: Open the published demo and click the header link. It should open your Chili Piper scheduling page (either in a new tab or inside the demo, depending on Storylane settings).
Convert CTA (Persistent Button)
Use the Convert CTA for a persistent, attention-grabbing scheduling button that follows the visitor through the demo.
- Open your demo in the Storylane editor.
- From the editor toolbar, open Demo Settings
- Enable the option labeled Setup a Convert CTA Button
- For the action type, choose Meeting Link from the dropdown.
- Paste your Chili Piper scheduling URL into the URL field.
- Publish the demo.
- Verify: Visit the published demo, and the Convert CTA should show (commonly bottom-right). Clicking it should open the Chili Piper scheduling interface inside the demo window or in the configured target.

Demo CTA (Guide modal buttons)
Add scheduling links to modal buttons or lead form buttons inside a demo guide step. This is useful when you want to let prospects book after seeing a specific feature or slide.
- In the demo editor, add or edit a Text Modal or a Lead Form step.
- Click the button you want to configure to open the button settings.
- Find the Go To or action setting for that button.
- Select the Meeting Link option from the action dropdown.
- Paste your Chili Piper scheduling URL in the target URL field.
- Save the modal settings (click the checkmark or Save button).
- Publish the demo.
- Verify: Run the published demo, trigger the modal/lead form, and click the button — Chili Piper should open in the modal or in the configured behavior.

Tips & Best Practices
- Use descriptive header text: instead of “Click here,” use “Book a demo” or “Talk to sales.”
- Pick the right link: use meeting-type-specific links (e.g., demo, discovery) when possible so prospects see the correct availability and questions.
- Test on multiple devices: verify scheduling opens correctly on desktop and mobile — Storylane behavior can differ across devices.
- Keep context: if you want prospects to stay inside the demo while booking, configure Storylane to open the link in-modal (if available). Otherwise, document that it will open a new tab/window.
- Analytics: consider adding UTM parameters to the scheduling URL so you can track which demo CTAs generate bookings.
Troubleshooting
Scheduling Link doesn't open
-
Check the URL: confirm you pasted the complete scheduling URL (starts with
https://). - Confirm Storylane CTA type: ensure the CTA action is set to Meeting Link (or the Storylane equivalent) and not an internal page anchor.
- Pop-up blockers: If Chili Piper is set to open in a new window, browser pop-up blockers may prevent it. Try allowing pop-ups for the domain or use an in-modal option.
Scheduling opens, but the calendar doesn't load
- Check the Chili Piper link in a separate tab: If it loads there, the problem is Storylane configuration.
- Check your Chili Piper reps' calendar integration: If the rep(s) assigned to the Scheduling Link have no calendar integrated in Chili Piper, we will not be able to load their availability. Ensure they connect the calendar in MyApp. As an Admin, you can verify who has a calendar connected in the Admin Center.
- Some Storylane themes or security settings may block third-party scripts; check the browser console for blocked resources.
- If you use advanced Chili Piper embedding (JS snippets), ensure those snippets are included and not blocked by CSP (Content Security Policy).
Other Issues
If you still have issues after these checks, collect the following and contact Customer Love at support@chilipiper.com:
- Exact Chili Piper Scheduling Link used
- Link to the published Storylane demo
- Browser + version where the issue occurs
- A screenshot or console error message (if present)
FAQ
- Can I pass lead data from Storylane to Chili Piper?
-
Storylane supports URL parameters on CTA links. You can append query parameters (for example:
?id=user@example.com&first-name=Jane) to your Chili Piper link if you want to pre-fill fields. Check this article for further details about Smart ParametersTest carefully to ensure Storylane preserves the parameters and the Scheduling Link works as it should.
- Will scheduling open inside the Storylane modal or in a new tab?
That depends on Storylane's CTA behavior and how you configure the action. If you want scheduling inside the demo window, select the in-modal behavior (if Storylane supports it). Otherwise, the Scheduling Link may open a new tab.
- Can I use a Personal Page vs a Meeting Type link?
Yes. Use a Meeting Type link (specific template) if you want a particular meeting length or questionnaire, or use a Personal Page link for a full list of meeting options.
