When should I use Custom Schedules?

For example, suppose you will host a training session for your customers from Monday to Wednesday, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., and you have a specific meeting type that contains all the data you need for these sessions.

This is an actual use case to exemplify a good use of this feature, but you also have many options to benefit from it!

How to create a Custom Schedule?

Within MyApp, navigate to the Availability tab in the left-hand side menu. Here's a direct link as well.

Navigate to the Custom Schedules tab and click Create Schedule

You should be able to edit the Working Hours associated with this Schedule in the section below:

You can use the "Copy to All" button to copy the selected working hours to all other days, saving some time and manual effort:

You can also use the "Add Interval" button to work with slots like 9 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 4 PM on the same day, not needing to add any calendar blockers if you do not want to be available for some hours, for example.

If your Custom Schedule has a "Draft" flag right next to it, it means that it's currently not active because you likely have not published it. Click "Edit" and then "Publish" to make it active.

In the Scheduler, you will notice some vertical lines within each day. If you hover over them, you will notice which Custom Schedule and Meeting Types are associated with that timeframe.

There are some extra settings to be aware of, as those can be helpful for your use case:

Meeting Types

You can define which Meeting Types and Scheduling Links will use the Custom Schedule. Click on it, and a dropdown will be displayed with your meeting types to be selected. 

Note that Meeting Types with the option to Overwrite Host's default schedule will not be available in the dropdown. 

Ownership Scheduling Links are also not selectable.
 

Timezone

It allows you to select the timezone of your schedule. You can sync from your calendar or manually include one if you are working in a different timezone, for example.

To manually include any timezone, the "Sync from my calendar" toggle needs to be disabled first.


 

Advanced Settings

Use Advanced Settings to set the date range this schedule should apply to, make it exclusive, or specify specific days with a different schedule.

Date-Restricted

This is the Date range this Custom schedule will apply to. For example, this may be for an event that is in two weeks, but you are setting up Meetings for this event. This is where you will set the date this Custom Schedule should apply to.

Make Exclusive

Times set here apply exclusively to this Schedule. If another Schedule overlaps with this one, you will be shown as unavailable for the meeting types in that schedule during the overlap. Once you toggle this you will see any conflicting schedules and have to agree to make it exclusive.

Specific Days

Customize your schedule even further by specifying days and times when it will vary. For example, if you are working in a different time zone, you can pick the days, schedule, and timezone for these specific days.
