What Live Data adds
With Live Data on, the Companies and People tabs in Engagements show:
- Company names from your CRM. When Live Data is off, companies appear by their website domain;
- Job titles for each person;
- Open opportunities (deals in HubSpot) for each account;
- Updated CRM values every 15 minutes.
Live Data also powers Funnel Analytics on attribution for open and closed opportunities (deals in HubSpot).
What Chili Piper requests access to
When you turn on Live Data, Chili Piper requests access to these objects.
Salesforce:
- Accounts;
- Contacts;
- Opportunities, including Contact Roles and History;
- Leads;
- Tasks;
- Events;
- Users.
HubSpot:
- Companies;
- Contacts;
- Deals, including History and Pipelines;
- Owners.
How Live Data differs from your CRM connection
Your CRM connection gives Chili Piper live read and write access. Chili Piper reads and writes records only at the moment a product needs them, such as when it routes a lead, so the data stays in your CRM.
Live Data adds a sync. It copies your CRM records to Chili Piper's servers every 15 minutes, so Engagements can show them at all times.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- A Scale or Enterprise plan;
- Admin access in Chili Piper;
- Salesforce or HubSpot connected to Chili Piper. For Salesforce, see Configuring the Salesforce Integration for your Organization. For HubSpot, see Configuring the HubSpot Integration for your Organization;
- A CRM user with permission to view every object listed above, to approve access.
Turn on Live Data
- Go to Command Center > Integrations;
- Open the Built-In Integrations tab and find the CRM section;
- Find Salesforce or HubSpot. It needs to show a CONNECTED badge;
- Click the Live Data toggle on that row;
- Review the objects in the Live Data window, then click Continue to Salesforce or Continue to HubSpot;
- Sign in to your CRM and approve access;
- Back in Chili Piper, the Live Data toggle shows ON.
If the connection fails
When a connection fails, your CRM's row shows Connection failed. Click See why to read the reason:
- Access was not granted: turn Live Data on again and approve access in your CRM;
- A field is hidden in Salesforce: ask your Salesforce admin to make the field visible. Go to Setup > Object Manager > the object > Fields & Relationships > the field > Set Field-Level Security, and select Visible for the profile of the user who connected. Then turn Live Data on again;
- Any other reason: turn Live Data on again, and contact Support if it keeps failing.
Turn off Live Data
Click the Live Data toggle to turn it off, then click Save.
⚠️ Warning: Flows that use synced CRM data stop working when you turn off Live Data.
