Available Roles and Their Permission Scope
Currently, we have three roles available in Chili Piper: Admin, Workspace Admin, and User. Let's understand better about them below:
Admin
This is the role to be assigned to someone who needs full permission in the app, from managing integrations to assets and users.
As mentioned above, an Admin has access to all functionality of the App:
- Billing
- User Management
- Org Integrations
- Data Fields
- Org Branding & Language
- Manage all assets (Meeting Types, Rules, Routers, Distributions, and so on) within the Workspace
- Access Reports
- Manage all available products in the account for which they have a license.
Workspace Manager
A Workspace Manager can manage workspace assets and other tasks that will be listed in more detail but will have less permission than users with Admin roles.
This Role is useful to users who, for example, need to manage specific workspaces only but should not have permission to manage the whole org.
A Workspace Manager can:
- Manage all assets (Meeting Types, Rules, Routers, Distributions, and so on) within the workspace.
- Manage workspace CSS preferences.
- Access Reports.
- Manage all products for which they have a license.
Note that a user can be a Workspace Manager for specific users and only a User for others. For example, John Doe can manage the SDR and Account Manager workspaces but only be a user for the Marketing one.
This is useful for scenarios where certain users should have the permission scope above only for certain areas.
User
A user will have the right to edit assets only in their Personal workspace (MyApp). Besides that, they can view and use some assets from Team workspaces, but with no edit/update rights.
They will need to rely on Admins and Workspace Admins to perform any updates if they are meant to be done at a workspace level.
A User can:
- Access anything with MyApp
- Access anything within the Chrome or Outlook Extension
- View and use (not edit) the assets from the workspaces they are assigned to
